Trajan, the allegedly official “Movie Font,” hasn’t met a single foe—until last year. This was because, much like Trajan’s own usage in movie posters that implied a sense of history, ‘momentousness’ and classicism, almost all movies which titles were set in Gill Sans Ultra Bold and Extra Bold also carry some common themes. They either were:
- Rated General
- Had a highly predictable storyline, and/or
- Had a main character that possesses some kind of seemingly normal physical or psychological disorder, was irritated with it at the start of the story, but is ultimately able to use the said disorder to his/her advantage.
